Good Will Hunting: An Oral History
The link above is a amazing interview with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck about a decade and a half after the movie that turned them into huge stars. I had an immensely good time reading this at 9 am in my bed here in HK.
The part that really stood out to me and also what I found to be the funniest of the entire transcription is on page 4 where Matt Damon talks about the feeling of the first day of filming. Which, some of you can relate, is one of the scariest moments while making a film and the also the moment when the words you wrote no longer become yours but the movie’s.
This article also touches on that whole rumor about there being sci-fi elements in their original script though in this article it only mentions things about escaping from the NSA.
I highly recommend you guys reading this article since it gives a really good insight and example on the realities and commitment, both in determination and time, on the Hollywood film making process.
